Looks like fall......

But feels like middle of summer! I have to say it was such a pretty Monday today with all the white and dark clouds in the sky! Just wish it would feel like it looks, but instead we had a 97 degree day and it is just suppose to be hotter tomorrow! October is in a day and a half so hopefully we will begin to feel a change soon!!

Crazy Hat Day!

Thursday was crazy hat day at Kyle's school, he always wants to think of his own creation, unfortunately for him his mom or dad aren't very creative.. I looked on line for some ideas and really only found ones for straw hats, which we didn't have. I told him that we could tie nuts and bolts from dad's garage on it, so he liked that idea. So G and myself tied about 10 different things on it. Well Thursday as we were getting ready for school he asked me to cut them off but to leave the string. Ok it's his hat so I do it.

He was mad in these pictures because the hats under the big hat were making his head itch but the big hat was to big by itself.
When I picked him up from school he had cut all the strings off and had put the 2 baseball caps in his back pack. Our old neighbor (Kyle's really good friend that is also in 3rd grade) that just moved a month ago wore the same hat, so that was fun!

I haven't posted in a few days!
Friday night I picked up Brittney and 3 of her girlfriends from school so they could all come back over here and hang out until it was time for the football game. Then I took the 4 of them and dropped them off at the game! That brought back so many memories, high school football games were the best! It made me very excited for her and her friends that the best years of school are just beginning for them!
Saturday we drove out to Palm Springs to see G's parents. The boys swam for a while and then we went to dinner and came home.
Sunday I went to see a chick flick with some friends.
There was no hockey this weekend. It kind of makes us go ~what are we going to do this weekend with no games?~.
This weekend we have a early hockey game Saturday morning and then my sisters baby shower that myself and other sister are throwing for her in the afternoon!

Boys Follow up appt...

Yesterday Kyle and Luke had their follow up appointment after being on antibiotic's for 3 straight weeks with their asthma/immunology Dr. We had to go for sinus x-rays before the appointment, George didn't go into work so he could go because I can not go in the x-ray room with the boys. Luke's came back clear (YEA!!!) and Kyle's still showed his left side not so good. So they want him to have a CT scan. Both boys had a immunity booster to see if that will boost their immunities and maybe they will not get such severe sinus infections. Hopefully it works!! My poor boys! Sinus infections are horrible!

HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY LUKE!!

Where has the last 4 years gone? I can not believe my little guy is already 4. Time flies! The last 4 years have been so great with Luke in our family, he has made us laugh in so many different ways. He has his own personality and that's what makes him so special. He is a bit strong willed but that is what makes him Luke.

This is really the first year he has gotten the birthday thing, although he is still confused of why we had a party on Friday and then now on Monday everyone is telling him Happy Birthday!
This morning him and I went and got a donut for his birthday and while in the donut shop he said ~why all these persons here, are they getting a donut for my birthday too?~. It was so cute!
Happy Birthday Buddy, We all love you!!!

New Bike!!

Gram and Papa gave Luke his very first big boy bike for his birthday! Since we were so busy this weekend George didn't have a chance to put it together until Sunday afternoon after our Sunday party. The minute we walked in the door Luke ran in and got his bike and scooted it to the garage so dad could put it together. It was so cute, he said ~I am going to help daddy put it together~.

He did so good at riding it!!

Party Weekend!!

Talk about one big party weekend!! Friday night was Luke's birthday party. Saturday bright and early Kyle had a hockey game. His team won 15 to 0! Kyle scored 5 of the goals!!! Talk about exciting and well worth getting up for ;)! (you know we would never miss his games win or loose).
Saturday afternoon we headed for a birthday party for our friends that we know from hockey's son. He turned 7 on Friday and choose to spend his birthday evening with us at Luke's party! They had a swim party at their community pool. Kids had a ton of fun and were ready for bed by 8.
Sunday we had yet another birthday party for another friend from hockey. It too was a swim party at their house. Nothing makes my boys happier then to swim, so they loved every minute of it, plus being with friends is always fun!!

Needless to say we are all tired from all the fun we had at all 3 parties! We will all be heading to bed early again tonight!

The day Luke's been waiting for...

Finally the day Luke has been waiting for came! The day of his party, he was so excited and had so much fun! It all went really well and he had a ton of fun jumping with his friends big and small, some adults had just as much fun!
He got great gifts! He loved the special chair that was there just for him to sit in to open his gifts!

We have had a busy weekend so we haven't got to open all his new stuff, which is fine because the excitement will just last that much longer!

This is him as we are getting ready to leave to head for his party.

Some of his friends...

Missing my grandma..

It has been almost 4 months since my Grandma died and I am really missing her. Luke's birthday is on Monday and it makes me sad we won't be going out to the mail to find a birthday card in it with $5.00 for him! My grandma never forgot any one's birthday! She was so good about it and my kids always knew they would be getting $5.00 from her. It is just sad to think none of us will ever get a birthday card from her again! There were so many days that went by without us seeing or talking to her, but because life was busy she understood, my grandma was great like that! I feel blessed that my kids got to enjoy her for the years they did. Brittney being 14 when she passed and how neat to have great grandparents still at 14. I did not have any great grandparents that I can remember. We still have my mom's parents and we feel blessed for that, they live 8 hours away so we don't see them very much, but when we do we all have such a great time!
I know my Grandma is up in heaven sending my baby boy big birthday wishes!!

Almost Friday!!

We have almost made it through the first full week of school. Is it Christmas break yet? ha ha Today was an ok day, interesting for a few reasons, one is that I ran out of gas (for the 2nd time since having my new suburban and have never in my life ran out before), my car has everything on it and it tells you basically when to wash it.. ha ha Well it tells you how many miles you have until empty. Well my gas light had come on and I drove the kids to school and came home. Luke and I were going out to get him some new shoes and to look for a cute shirt for his party tomorrow night. We head out and our friends down the street are out in their front yard, so we pull up and chat to them for a few (it only seemed like a few but the more I think of it I think it was more like 15 minutes or so) minutes, car running... We head out and we are heading to the gas station, we are about 1 mile (gas station is only about 3 miles from our house) from the off ramp where the gas station is (yes we took the freeway, we have a freeway right in the middle of everything and it is so much easier to take it verses side streets) and the car shut off.. So we coast to the side and we call AAA. I have onstar but they do not have a good turn around time like AAA does. AAA charges 10.00 for one gallon of gas and onstar is free, but who wants to wait 45 minutes for onstar when AAA said 15 minutes. They came put the gas in, I gave them 10.00 and off we went to the Vans store, oh sorry gas station first. Luke got 2 new pairs of vans, he picked out black ones with flames on them and then we got a solid black pair, they don't make brown ones in his size which is silly. But he is very happy with the 2 pair he got!
The frustrating part of this all was that my car told me I had 34 miles until empty. Maybe it meant to say 34 seconds when I looked at it after leaving our neighbors.. :)
We weren't able to go look for a shirt because Thursday are Kyle's early days, so we grabbed lunch and headed to the school to get in the line and ate in the car.
After getting Brittney from school I went to old navy to look for some clothes for me and look for a shirt for Luke. I got lucky for me and found 2 knit basic skirts with the wide waist band I can roll down under my tummy and 3 t-shirts. I am excited to have more then just 2 pair of bottoms to wear!! I have been holding off on clothes shopping cause I don't want to get things to fit now and then have them get to small later, plus everything is winter now and I will not wear jeans and long sleeves in the summer heat, although today's weather was so nice high here 77!! LOVE IT!!
Tonight was back to school night. Kyle's teacher is super nice, gives a little to much homework for my liking but what can I do. Came home got the boys to bed (even though Luke keeps getting up to tell someone something) and I am heading there myself! Tomorrow night is Luke's party!! Can't wait! Good night everyone!

He is getting ready to....

Turn the big 4yrs old in 5 days!! We need to make sure he is looking good for his special day/s. So today we went and saw Lisa for a hair cut and she always styles it fun for him! His party is Friday night! He is so excited to have his own little group of friends to invite (mostly siblings from kyle's hockey team). He talks about his birthday everyday and has been saying he is 3 and will be 4 on his birthday for months now, oh not to mention he has been inviting people to his party since I think about April. I am looking forward to his big day, because he is so excited, to see things threw his eyes is worth everything!

Fall is near!!

This morning as I was driving Brittney to school I really noticed that the leaves are starting to change and couldn't help but notice that the temperature was so much cooler then it normally is! It means fall is slowly approaching us and I can not wait! I love summer but am always happy to see it go!!

Monday

Mondays are going to be great for the next 4 years!! Brittney starts late on Monday's now that she is in high school! So both kids start at 8:30, it is so nice to get that extra 30 minutes of sleep and to leave at 8 o'clock drop Brittney and go straight to kyle's school and drop him. Everything was timed perfect! Kyle loves to be at school at 8:15 when the gates open so he can play on the play ground and we got there right at 8:15. It will be such a nice change for Mondays! Who doesn't need a little extra time on a Monday morning?

Fun in the Sun!

Saturday we spent the day at the beach! It was so nice, it was super hot at home so the beach was a the place to be! The kids like always had a blast in the sun, sand and water! They found crabs this time, huge ones and a baby star fish.

I was taking pictures and Lori just so happened to be eating her dinner but was sweet enough to pose for me.

All day Lori and I had been watching this lady that was sitting near us, she slept for 3 straight hours without looking up once at her two young daughters, who had been in and out of the water all day. Mid day her girls started playing with our kids, Luke was having a blast with them. The mom finally woke up and sat up almost falling over, then laid back down again. We thought something was up. It wasn't until around 5 when she got up and ran up to the bathroom with her Gatorade bottle (which we knew wasn't Gatorade) leaving her two same girls alone that we really knew something was up with her. Lori and I went and told the life guard we suspected she was drunk and we were concerned about the girls. he then called another life guard to come over had talk to us. We pointed the lady (which was now on the board walk running away from where we were, mind you the 2 girls 7 and 6 were with us playing with our kids. The life guard drove by where she was and she came up to him and started talking, he could smell the alcohol on her so he called the police. Police showed up, talked to us, we pointed the direction we last saw her at and they went and found her (we still are watching the little girls and it has been over an hour since the mom ran off). Police drove back over to us with her in the back seat, they took all of our statements and talked to the little girls, got all their stuff which wasn't much, just a few towels and the mom's purse that had empty wine bottles in it. Mind you when they found the mom she was 4 life guard stands away from where we were asking random people for money. Earlier we had asked the girls if they had eaten and they said they had breakfast, well it was 6 p.m. now, so we started giving them any of our snack food we had. They didn't even have dry clothes! Another police unit drove up and one took the mom to jail the other took the little girls into child protection services. it was so sad, but the girls didn't act like they hadn't been threw it before. Better they be safe then with a drunk mommy. Sad way to end a good day at the beach.

First Official day..

Of it just being Luke and I home. I kind of forgot how much fun it is to have that one on one time with him. All day he wants to be with me and wants me to do the things he enjoys doing with him and I love it! I have learned that things can wait, the laundry, dishes etc. will always be here but he won't always be here all day with me. Don't get me wrong I have not let my house go, I just have learned to do things at different times unlike I use too. We talk about the funniest things, he is amazing!!!

What a Day!!

Yesterday was not the best of days for me. it wasn't a horrible day but a day I was glad see come to an end.
Getting up 2 hours sooner then my body has been use too for over 2 months was not as hard as I thought it would be (but boy do I feel it today). I was at lunch when Brittney text me that school got out early, I was rather bothered that the high school did not make sure that in coming freshmen knew the first day was half day. With all the papers that we filled out you would have thought one of them would have said first day of school was early dismissal. So we ate super fast to make sure we got to Brittney on time, the last thing I wanted was for her to have to wait for me on her very first day of high school, we made it and had time to spare. :)
In the afternoon my neighbor who thinks it is her place to discipline my kids took Luke's game boy away from him because her 2 yr was crying about wanting it, so that royally ticked me off. My child I will discipline him when he needs it, no one shall do it for me!! Have been getting headaches daily for about 5 days and they don't go away until I go to bed for the night, so I of course got one around noon. The getting up early started having its toll on me around 2, I felt so tired it was making me sick. Picked up kyle from school and as soon as we pull up we have the neighbor boy asking to play, give us some time to get a snack and talk about his day and then he'll come out. Knock knock knock can Kyle play.. 5 minutes later... UGHH, then the kids start fighting... Now off to hockey practice, that went well.. On the way home I take all 3 kids and we stop off at the busiest Target in the world for some school supplies which is the section everyone was at. We go threw Burger King to grab dinner (since it was pushing 8) start heading home, signal light changes yellow, oh I can make it, then as I started threw it turned to red and I look over and there is a cop sitting at the other signal, I knew I was busted.. Sure enough I got a ticket for running a red light. I was so ready for my long day to end and go to bed!! But then I didn't sleep very good. :(
Today has already been a better day!! YEA!!!!!

1st Day of school!!

Tuesday Sept 2, 2008

Brittney started high school!!!! She wasn't nervous until we pulled up into the parking lot, she had a friend waiting for her so I know that made things easier. She had a good day, she said the place is huge, well it's high school right. She had some trouble finding her 5th period computer class and a security guard saw her walking around after class had started and offered her some help, he took her to her class and she was about 10 minutes late.. Oops, poor thing.. We also had no idea it was half day, thank heavens for text messaging because Brittney text me 45 minutes before school was out to tell me school ended at 12:15 not 2:22. I only got two pictures of Brittney, and she was in a hurry, so they aren't very good.

Kyle started 3rd grade! Wow that went by fast. We left here about 35 minutes early so we could get parking, we also had the neighbor girl that is 2 because her mom had to go to kindergarten with her older brother (the first day of school here parents attend with the kindergartners). We already knew where Kyle's classroom was because of meet your teacher last Thursday. We went to his classroom and he put his back pack down and him and his buddy were off to the playground, so I visited with my girlfriend (the mom of the boy Kyle was playing with). 8:30 bell rang and everyone lined up, Mrs. Lomeli came out and greeted everyone and then it was hugs, kisses and have a good day and he went inside. He has gotten so independent this year, I only walked him the first day and today he said just drop me off in the drop off line mom.. My little boy is growing up!

I picked up Kyle and he had a really good day and really likes his teacher, which I knew he would!! he was excited to go back today which is rare for him :)

Last weekend of summer!

Got to love that the last weekend of summer is at least a 3 day one!! Saturday night we went over to our friends for a bbq and movie night, this time we watched Beetle Juice. Kids liked it.
Sunday we had a day at home and got some stuff done, G worked on hockey stuff. He is the team manager for Kyle's hockey team and that keeps him very busy.
Monday we went up to my parents to swim and bbq. It is always nice to go up on holidays and to spend time with cousins we do not get to see very often. Kids swam all day! Kind of sad summer is over.
