Hair dryer!
About 8 months ago my very expensive hair dryer quit working, so i sent it in (and don't remember where I sent it to) and they sent me out a brand new one. Sunday night I turned my hair dryer on and PUFF it blew up. 2nd one in 8 months! So now I have to figure out where to send it for a new one once again and wait for a few week and in the mean time I am using my old one that frizzes the heck out of my hair that's why i got a expensive one to begin with. Just little things like these make me crazy!

FOG!
I had forgotten the feeling of ~being in a fog~ after having a baby. I know it is from lack of sleep, but man it is rough to feel completely out of it all the time. My sister and I have been cracking up for a few days about ~the fog~ feeling, I seriously can't remember the silliest things right now. I had 2 weeks with G home and that was great even though the first week we were pretty much in the hospital I still had one full week afterwards. Now it is full force of doing the normal things. I can't nap because I have Luke home. I feel like I am going a mile a minute. Makes for fast days, but I need longer nights!!

3 weeks already!
3 weeks ago today! Although it seems like Blake has been a part of our family for much longer it is crazy to think it has already been 3 weeks!
He is doing really good, wakes usually in the 2 o'clock hour and then between 5-6, so not bad. Even though I feel the lack of sleep, I feel like I am in a fog most of the time.
The kids are still loving him! Luke can not keep his hands off of him and we are constantly reminding him to wash his hands.
G went back to work on Tuesday and I got back in the swing of things with taking the kids to and from school! I was so proud of myself that first day! :)
Laundry is another story. G was so good about keeping up on it but I am so busy with the 4 kids that I have gotten behind! :(
Kyle had his last game of the regular season this last Saturday. We played a good team and so badly wanted to beat them, we score the first goal, then they scored 3, we scored one more and then they scored another one, score was 5 to 4 and the last 2 minutes of the game our coach pulled our goalie and Kyle scored to tie up the game!!!! We tied 5 to 5 which makes them unable to advance as far as placement! We were all very excited, I am sure the other team wasn't, but we were!

Continued....
It is amazing how when you have a newborn you don't have much time for anything else except the baby even though they sleep so much. I have been trying to update my blog since the day we came home from the hospital..
Ok, where did we leave off???
Monday Feb 2, 2009
That morning (I know I already went through this day, but I am adding to it) around 8 a.m. the nurse came in and was getting the bed next to me ready for a new mom, I was not thrilled knowing that I would now have a room mate and bathroom mate.. EWW!! But the maternity ward was packed and everyone room had 2 people in them except me, so it was bond to happen. Now mind you the hospital just completed a brand new maternity wing, but it had not been opened yet because of inspections etc. It is due to open this week (Feb 16). So all of us new mommies only missed having our own big private room by a few weeks. Later Monday night I had told the nurse that our faucet in the bathroom was leaking from underneath every time we turned the sink on, so she called maintenance to come repair it. A few minutes later she came in and said that the hospital won't allow us to even stay in that room anymore with a leaky pipe, so we had to be moved rooms. Well there were no empty rooms so my room mate went to one room and I went to another. It was the same night nurse I had had the previous night and I think she was the head nurse, she worked it out so I could have my own private room that was only meant for one patient. Wow did I luck out!!! I was so happy!!
Of course I don't sleep in the hospital, for some reason my kids will not sleep in those plastic beds they have for the babies, so I end up holding them all night, which is fine because I have waited 9 months to hold them.
Tuesday morning G and Luke came to get us and bring us home, but discharge took a little longer then they would have liked. Luke kept saying ~Lets go home~. Before my nurse did the discharge paper work I told her that the baby looked really yellow, she said as long at it isn't going to his chest he is fine, I told her it was already on his chest, so she looked and said well as long as he is still pooping. I thought he was too yellow for a baby of only 2 days.
We left the hospital around noon. Luke was so excited to be able to sit next to Blake in the car! he grinned all the way home. It was so cute.
We got home and I basically went straight to bed. I was so tired form not sleeping 2 nights in the hospital. I took a 3 hour nap and still was super tired, but it helped. We ordered pizza for dinner and just all hung out as a new family of 6!
Wednesday the baby was even more yellow then he was on Tuesday. We went throughout our day and come around 2:00 I told G that the baby had not pooped all day. I called the Dr and she returned my call around 4:00 and said she would like to get his belirubin levels checked, so off G and I went back down across from the hospital to the lab. They said the Dr would get the results around 7 p.m. that night. She had told me earlier that she didn't think his numbers would come back any higher then 17 and that if they were around that she would order for the lights be delivered to our house and he could be under them here. She called me almost at 8 p.m and said that his count was 22 almost the highest she has ever seen it and that she needs to admit him back into the hospital. I started to cry. G and I got him and I threw some things for myself into a bag, told Brittney what was going on and asked her if she wanted our friend from down the street to come up so she wasn't alone and she said no she was fine. We got to the hospital and they had a room waiting for us. Thank heavens it was a private room with a bed for me, his bed of lights and a bathroom, so I never had to leave him. They did another belirubin count and it had gone up to 24. That is when they told me I could not take him out to feed him or for anything. It was so sad to see him in there all alone and his eyes covered. I just wanted to hold my new baby. They drew his blood again at 4 a.m. and his count had gone down to 19, so that was good news. I could not stop crying all day that day, I started in the morning and could not stop. I missed my older kids, I missed G cause he was home with Luke and to get Britt and Kyle from school, so he couldn't come down until later. I just so badly wanted to be home with all 6 of us.
Friday morning his leaves were 12 so I knew we would get to go home!! I was so excited. Our Dr. came in around 11 and said yes we could leave, so I called G and him and Luke headed down to pick us up for the 2nd time.
Luke laughed so hard to see Blake with the sunglasses on his eyes, he thought that was so cool.
Blake's weight also had dropped....
Birth- 8lbs 4 oz
Discharge weight- 7 lbs 10 oz
3 days old admission back in the hospital- 7 lbs 6 oz
discharge weight for the 2nd time-7 lbs 12 oz.
8 days old- almost 9 pounds.
He is doing great now, still a little yellow especially in the whites of his eyes, but in time that will work its self out.

Long over due update!
It has been 17 days since my last post! Everyday for the past at least 9 days I have wanted to come update my blog, but never got around to it.
Saturday January 31, 2009
Kyle had a early 7:00 o'clock hockey game. They won 4 to 2!! My sister and my 3 nephews came to watch his game, he loves it when he has his own cheering section! After the game we all went out to breakfast to Ihop. The following day was my nephews 16th birthday! I asked him if I could have the baby that day and he told me a very firm NO. He said ~come on Aunt Denise don't have him on my birthday~. I told him he just jinxed me to have him that day. After breakfast we came home and hung out around here, I ended up going shopping with my friend across the street, we only went to 2 stores then the grocery store. At the grocery store this little old man behind me said as I was leaving ~I hope you make it home in time~, meaning before I give birth I assume. I laughed and thought he was so cute. Later that evening I went and got my toes and nails done and then came home and our neighbor had us over for dinner. We got home around 7:00 and I felt so dizzy I laid on the bed. It got worse and worse and by 8 I could hardly see straight and felt so sick, so I called labor and delivery asking them if I should worry and they told me to call my Dr. I talked to her and she asked the basic questions ~have you had plenty to eat, drink etc~ I answered yes to all and she told me she didn't know why I would be dizzy to just take it easy & maybe go to be early. I thought about not showering but then just felt like I wanted too, so I showered and went to bed. It was 8:30 and I was asleep by 8:45. I woke up around midnight to use the bathroom, then again at 2 and then again at 4 and when I sat up that time my water broke. I was so shocked! My water has never broke on its own, ever let alone 15 days early!!! I woke up G and told him and he kept saying OK OK OK, as it was registering in his head. I washed my face, brushed my teeth, put on a little mascara and packed my stuff, we woke Brittney and her friend to tell them we were leaving for the hospital and that Haley (my cousin that was staying with the kids while we had the baby and until we got home with the baby) would be here around 6:30 or 7:00. I shocked her when I woke her up and she looked at me with this look and said ~why are you going to the hospital~ her friend said ~good luck~! It was funny. As we were leaving G remembered the car had no gas, so we had to stop at the gas station on our way, which was no big deal because I was not contracting. We got to the hospital around 5 a.m. and went through the emergency room entrance, they said ~can we help you~ and I said labor and delivery and they come rushing out with the wheel chair as if I am going to deliver right there on the floor. We get up to the 3rd floor and get put in what I think would have to have been the coldest room in the hospital, they hook me all up and check me and I am at a 3.5 STILL same as 6 days before and 70% effaced. Still no contractions, so we thought it was going to be a long long day. They started poticin around 7 and I started having contractions but couldn't even feel them they were so mild, at 9:00 they came in and did my epidural and turned the poticin up more and again contractions were mild and about every 4 minutes. We just kept saying it was going to be a long day and then at 11:00 I told the nurse I felt pressure and she was so cute she says ~Oh ok mama, you have done this 4 times, so I believe you, you know what your talking about~ so she checked me and sure enough I was a 10 cm and fully effaced and ready to have this baby. I started pushing at 11:11 and he was born at 11:28. 17 minutes!! Wow I am becoming a pro at this! He weighed in at 8 lbs 4 oz and 20 1/4 inches long. He looks a lot like Luke. He has darker hair then the older boys.
The kids got to the hospital around 1:00 and were in love with him the minute they say him. Luke said over and over again ~HI HUBBLE~... It was super cute. They moved me into my room around 1:30 and as we walked into the maternity area out of labor and delivery they asked the kids who wanted to push the button that plays a lullaby through the hospital to announce the birth of our baby. We got settled in our room and Haley took the kids home around 3. Super bowl started (oh that was another thin I had been telling G I was having this baby on super bowl Sunday for months now!!) then we had our first visitors Dannon and Nicole. Nicole is my best girlfriend from about 18 years and her boyfriend. I was so happy get to introduce her to my new little guy! We had a good visit and then our other friends Bob and Janice came to visit. They stayed for about an hour or so and then left, a little while later my good friend Lori came to see us. We got to visit with her for awhile, then she headed out. Around 7:30 my parents, grandparents and cousin came to see us. Then around 8:00 my 3 girlfriends came to see us. It was so nice to visit with everyone one on one basically. Monday my girlfriend Christie came, then my girlfriend Denise and then my 2 sisters and nephews and nieces all came and my parents came again that night.
Since it has taken me almost 2 days to get this much typed I am going to post it and continue later since I hear Blake crying downstairs.
So to be continued................
