Thanksgiving weekend 2008

This was the first year in many many years we did not go out to Glamis for Thanksgiving. It was so nice to be home! We did not go for a few reasons, one being that I am 7 months pregnant and would have no idea where to find the energy to pack everything, 2 it just seems to be so crowded out there and I can not relax and enjoy myself unless my kids are in camp playing in the sand and not on their quads and Kyle had a 3 day hockey tournament. Yes, Yes Yes, hockey keeps our family very busy, but we love every minute of it and Kyle is the main goal scorer on his team, so they need him there.
We had a great 4 day weekend being at home! Thursday we had a game at 7:15 so we were at the rink at 6:15 then we came home and napped (well ok I did) then went over to some friends house for Thanksgiving dinner. We were going to go up to my parents but since it is a 45 minute drive and we had been up since 5 a.m. and had to be up at 5:45 a.m. the following morning we decided to stay local so we could get into bed early. We had a nice dinner with just the 9 of us and were home and in bed at 8:15. We lost our game Thanksgiving 3 to 4. It was a good game, but our team did not seem to be awake yet and let some pucks by that normally would have never had a chance.
Friday we lost also 3 to 4 it was a good close game and our boys played very well. We played a team from Fresno, they were quick little guys. Friday after the game we came home and G got my Christmas boxes down and inside for me, so the boys and I started decorating. Later that afternoon we took the boys up to our friends house to play and G and I went and saw the movie Four Christmases. We both enjoyed it. Brittney went with her dad for the weekend and our friend took her 2 boys and our two boys to see Bolt in 3-D. They really liked it.
Saturday I got up early and hit a few stores, I was super excited to get 8 gifts bought! G then took Kyle to his game and Luke and I headed off to the neighbor boys birthday party. I was bummed not to be able to go to Kyle's game, but Luke had a good time at the party. A reptile man came with snakes, a baby alligator, frogs, turtles, and a huge lizard. I have a few pictures but have not downloaded them yet. Kyle's game was 3 to 3 tie with Kyle scoring all 3 of the goals!! Saturday night we took Kyle over to our friends house so he could spend the night with their son. We hung out for a few hours and ended up having left over turkey with them. Then G, Luke and I all came home to get showers and hung out in our pj's.
Today we are here at home getting things done, I finished the inside holiday decor and G is working on the outside. I am a little disappointed cause he has hated the icicle lights since I brought them 2 years ago and this year we have more strands that only half work then we have full strands that they all work, so he threw them away and put up the traditional big bulbs lights. They just seem old fashioned to me, but I keep telling myself at least he is putting them up cause some dads won't. He even put up my Grandpa's star that he made us grand kids!! So that means a lot!!
